PBS TeacherSource - Early Childhood

Innovative Teaching - Early Childhood Education Resources "This is an update of the April 2000 newsletter. Whereas you can find great online activities for young students in the Primary Learning Links issue http://surfaquarium.com/newsletter/primary.htm this edition focuses on resources for early childhood teachers. Teachers of younger children are great at sharing resources and working as teams. Like the children they teach, early childhood educators enjoy hands-on learning. They have an enthusiasm for exploration and discovery that is pervasive in their classrooms. I sincerely hope this issue will aid these teachers in continuing to spread their joy of learning. You can find many more early childhood resources listed at Innovative Teaching at http://surfaquarium.com/early.htm. Thanks to Jerry Blumengarten for his recommendations on this topic!"

100th Day - Fifty Ideas from TeachersFirst "Depending on how you count and when you started, the 100th day of school
should be coming up sometime soon. We've found that many elementary schools use this as a day to reinforce counting, estimation, and other numerical skills. There ís obviously no set curriculum for these activities (though large numbers of jellybeans seem to be an important component)."

Links to use in K-3 classes Hi, all. My name is Susan Brooks and I am co-founder of Internet4classrooms.com

There is a special page there for primary teachers. I created it on a dare when teachers told me there was nothing on the internet for KKers. Having over 20 years of KK under my belt, as the teacher, not the student..I took the dare. It has become so long that Kathy Schrock has called it a lengthy list of links. :) When I run off the list for my presentation of What can a 5-year-old Do? it is 14 pages long. It is divided up into many categories: subject areas, writing, phonics, stories, themes, units, etc. to make things easy to find.
