A re-tweet from RMByrne, Who Wants to be a Mathionaire is a general math knowledge quiz fashioned after the tv game show. It has life-lines (Audience, 50/50, Phone-a-Friend) and the object is to make a million dollars!

Here is the full screen version which should work with Smartboards. Who Wants to be a Mathionaire

Based on the game "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire", this game drills you on difficult math facts. This can be a challenger. This game gets harder the longer you play. I use it for team based learning.

If you like this site your students may enjoy these additional game challenges~ Additional Game Challenges

If you are passionate about literacy and are looking for great ideas and resources this site is a keeper. Check out the top posts and Literacy Lava publications for current interests, ideas and the latest literacy buzz. This site supports reading, writing and communication.

"Every teacher, parent or anyone who deals with kids has a bag of tricks. We need a bag like that for those days when an emergency arrives, or we're feeling out of sorts, or our kids are using the "b" word - (bored).

My bag of tricks is ever-expanding. It has grown over my years as a teacher, parent, aunt and friend. In it I pop language games, reading and writing activities I think kids will enjoy, tips for doing things the Book Chook way, and links to internet treasures."

Other literacy that may peak your interest:

Mrs. P.Com

I stumbled upon this site by chance during a discussion at tappedin. These sites would make an excellent home/school connection for young learners, ESL and EFL students and educators who wish to increase integration of technology into the primary classroom.

FossWeb offers three sites with interactive inquiry-based science activities. FOSS (Full Option Science System) is a research-based science curriculum for grades K–8 developed at the Lawrence Hall of Science, University of California at Berkeley. It is also an ongoing research project dedicated to improving the learning and teaching of science.

The FOSS project began over 20 years ago during a time of growing concern that our nation was not providing young students with an adequate science education. The FOSS program materials are designed to meet the challenge of providing meaningful science education for all students in diverse American classrooms and to prepare them for life in the 21st century. Development of the FOSS program was, and continues to be, guided by advances in the understanding of how youngsters think and learn. There are interactive activities for kids and teacher resources for grades K-2, grades 3-6 and middle school. There is also a Science Notebook Folio with suggestions for getting started with notebooks plus ideas for deepening student understanding through the use of science notebooks.
