A re-tweet from RMByrne, Who Wants to be a Mathionaire is a general math knowledge quiz fashioned after the tv game show. It has life-lines (Audience, 50/50, Phone-a-Friend) and the object is to make a million dollars!

Here is the full screen version which should work with Smartboards. Who Wants to be a Mathionaire


Based on the game "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire", this game drills you on difficult math facts. This can be a challenger. This game gets harder the longer you play. I use it for team based learning.

Thanks to twitter for the heads up on Study Jam, excellent resources from Scholastic for Science and Maths. Study Jams includes many free resources, including teaching videos / animations and slide shows on a variety of Science and Maths topics. Each topic covered also has key vocabulary lists as well as a test yourself option and some even have fun ‘Karaoke’ sing alongs to help revise concepts! Well worth a look!

Welcome to FOSSweb! via kwout

FossWeb offers three sites with interactive inquiry-based science activities. FOSS (Full Option Science System) is a research-based science curriculum for grades K–8 developed at the Lawrence Hall of Science, University of California at Berkeley. It is also an ongoing research project dedicated to improving the learning and teaching of science.

The FOSS project began over 20 years ago during a time of growing concern that our nation was not providing young students with an adequate science education. The FOSS program materials are designed to meet the challenge of providing meaningful science education for all students in diverse American classrooms and to prepare them for life in the 21st century. Development of the FOSS program was, and continues to be, guided by advances in the understanding of how youngsters think and learn. There are interactive activities for kids and teacher resources for grades K-2, grades 3-6 and middle school. There is also a Science Notebook Folio with suggestions for getting started with notebooks plus ideas for deepening student understanding through the use of science notebooks.
